2016 Most Valuable Player

48th Annual Holy Cross Men’s Open Basketball Tournament
Most Valuable Player

Anthony Moody

University of Mary – Bismarck, North Dakota

BSN Sports / The Bar – Green Bay, Wisconsin

Anthony played his high school basketball right here in the Valley at Appleton West High School and graduated with the class of 2007. After graduating high school, he went to Lake Region State College and played two years there before transferring to the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. In his two years at U-Mary, he became one of the most honored and dynamic players in school history. Anthony was the very first Marauder Student-Athlete to be selected in the NBA Development League Draft. The former U-Mary All American was taken in the fifth round by the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

One of the nation’s top scorers as a senior at U-Mary, Moody was named to the NABC’s 2011 State Farm Division II All-American Team, the Daktronics All-American Second Team, the Basketball Times 2011 Division II All-American First Team, and the 2011 Division II Bulletin All-American Third Squad. He was also selected to the Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game.

After graduating from U-Mary in 2011 and spending a short stint in the NBA Development League, Moody went on to play for the Halifax Hurricanes in the International Basketball League from 2013-2014.

It is an honor and pleasure to watch Anthony perform at this elevated level and see him utilize his talents on the court here at Holy Cross. We are truly grateful to have the opportunity to see him play in our Tournament and hope he continues for many years to come.
